Palm Beach County Parks

Develops and maintains the County's 66 parks operated by Palm Beach County, totaling over 6,000 acres, and provides recreational facilities and organized programs for County residents. Leisure Times, a publication of the department, lists facilities and programs available. The publication is produced three times a year and is available at no charge by calling 966-6619.

Parks Division: 966-6655

Responsible for construction, landscaping and maintenance of all County parks, and provides recreational facilities and organized programs for County residents.

Planning and Design Division: 966-6637

Oversees long range planning and is responsible for developing site plans, management plans and landscape, design, and construction plans for existing and future County parks.

Recreation Division: 966-6625

Responsible for providing organized recreation programs for County residents, for guarding twelve County-operated beaches, and for managing recreation facilities such as community centers, golf courses and swimming pools.

Special Populations Section: 966-6681/TDD: 966-6684

The Special Populations program provides recreational opportunities for persons with mental, physical, emotional and/or specific learning disabilities.

* Morakami Museum focuses on the theme of interpreting Japanese culture and the Japanese-American heritage of Palm Beach County. The facility offers permanent and temporary exhibits, Japanese gardens, picnic areas, and a nature-hiking trail. Okeeheelee Nature Center provides nature education programs, activities and exhibits.
